Obituary for Bobby Neil Carter

Bobby Neil Carter, 82, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday July 2nd, 2017. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. The oldest of three boys, Bob was born on May 16, 1935 in Plainview, Texas to Audie and Naomi Carter. After completing his primary education at Poly High School in Riverside, Ca in 1953, Bob became a proud member of the US Marine Corp serving during the Korean War reaching the rank of Sergeant of Marines. Although Bob left active duty in 1956 he remained a Marine at heart his entire life, "Semper Fi"! Following his time in the service he joined IBEW Local 440 electrical union in Riverside, Ca. He worked as a union journeyman nearly 30 years and served as a vice chair businessman before retiring in 1998. During that time he mentored numerous apprentices and was affectionately known as Baby Huey. Late in his career he lobbied in Washington DC for the union. Bob and Nancy married on February 22, 1957. Bob and Nancy's door was always open to anyone in need. Over their 60 year marriage they cared for their children, foster children, and many others. Turning his life to Christ in 1973 Bob shared the gospel with anyone willing to listen and was a devoted follower. For many years he drove the Mira Loma Southern Baptist Church bus where he became known as the Candy Man to all children. AMEN! He loved motorcycles especially riding his Harley Hog, gardening, fishing, and more than anything he loved spending time with his family. Bob could fix anything and was the first to help anyone in need. He brought joy to everyone who knew him and he will be missed.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Ellen (Egli-Richardson) Carter; sons John Paul Carter, Robert Clinton Carter (Bron); daughters Debra Annette Scheer (Robert), Karin Marie Hoggard (Kevin), Crystal Dawn Carter, Amber Lee Lauber (Eric) and close cousin Linda Ringer; 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Audie and Naomi Carter, step-father James Andrew, brothers Clinton Dale Carter, and William Benjamin Carter.
