Frances Osborn Boaz

Frances Osborn Boaz, 89 received his angel wings in his home with his wife children and loved ones by his side June 23rd in the early eve. He lived most of his life with his beloved wife Rose, of 68 years.
They first met in Dayton Oregon at the City Park when Rose was a rosy cheeked bouncing beauty and Frances was young and full of passion. Three years later after serving time in the military he came back to Dayton Oregon searching for that special gal. He spotted her crossing the street by the Pirates Den and asked her out. March 19, 1949 the two loved birds were married.
Frances was born in Spencerville, Oklahoma on Jan. 27th, 1928. In 1943 Frances boarded a train to Oregon with his family to discover the green fields of Oregon and work the crops. His family settled in Wheatland. He worked at a dairy farm and Alderman Farms before he joined the army.
Frances and Rose lived near Grand Island and Walnut Hill as young newlyweds. In 1954 he began his career with Southern Pacific Railroad of 32 years, settling in Newberg.
They have three children. Lloyd, Alan and Carol. He has 6 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Frances was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed traveling. They bought a ranch after retiring and he fulfilled his desire of horse and mule ranching. He belonged to the Mule Skinners Club and enjoyed socializing.
At 65 he taught himself to play the fiddle. Eventually he got so good he was accepted in the Old Time Fiddlers Club and became a regular.
Interment will be held at Hopewell Cemetery at 1:00PM on Saturday July 1st. Followed by a gathering at Unionvale Country Church.
