Obituary for Fredrick Kenneth Heider

Frederick Kenneth Heider passed away on November 23, 2017 due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease. He was with his family by his side at his son’s home in Amity Oregon. He was 79 years old. Frederick (Fritz) Heider was born on December 2, 1937 to parents Clare and Hester Heider. His father was a construction worker and his mother a homemaker and the family lived in Sheridan Oregon for the first part of their lives moving to Dayton Oregon where his father served one term as Mayor.
Fritz married his sweetheart Lois Dean Gibson on December 15, 1962 and raised two children, David Allen Heider and Sheila Colleen May. The family continued to live in Dayton Oregon until Fritz moved them to the quiet country life outside of Amity Oregon in 1972 and where they have remained since.
Fritz began working for Alderman Farms, moving to the Farmer’s Co-op and what is now Wilco. For over 35 years Fritz worked in agriculture where he was continually helping farmers as both a crop manager and spray-rig operator.
For the better part of his life, Fritz selflessly gave his time and expertise to all that needed help. No job was too small - if a neighbor needed help with a roof, plumbing, a repair - he was there to lend a helping hand.
Fritz is survived by his son David and daughter Sheila as well as grandchildren Jackie Heider-Delaney, Courtney May, Shaun Kirk and great granddaughter Willow Delaney. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois and brother William Heider.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday November 30, 2017 at Hopewell Community Church at 21600 S.E. Church Road, Dayton OR, 97114 Memorial donations may be made to www.gofundme.com/fritzheider.
