James grew up in Albany, OR where he graduated from West Albany High School in 1993. He met the love of his life, Sara Hyatt from Newberg, OR that same year and they were married June 25, 1994 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albany. He was a volunteer firefighter in Albany and worked at LakeTronics in Corvallis before deciding to enlist in the US Navy. He served aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower based in Norfolk, VA. In 1996, their first daughter Jasmine was born.
In 1997, James decided to move his family back to Oregon and settled in Newberg. He once again became a volunteer firefighter and worked for an electronics company, EFTC. James graduated with a bachelor’s degree from ITT Tech in 2000, just days after his second child Ezra was born. While still in college, James began working for the US Postal Service, where he stayed for 18 years, going between Portland and Salem.
James moved his family again in 2001 and settled in Sheridan, Oregon, making it their home for 16 years. James and Sara had two more children; Evan and Sophia. James was a hard worker who always put his family above anything else. James was a believer in Christ and a devout Catholic. James loved to fish; taking his children fishing brought him great joy. James loved to ride motorcycles, collect Matchbox and Hotwheel cars, play and create music on his keyboard, model railroading, reading books and antiquing with his wife, Sara. He will always be known for his big beautiful smile that would light up any room and his wonderful sense of humor.
James was preceded in death by his father, Louis Jensen and his cousin, Ralph Osredkar.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at St. James Catholic Church. A viewing will take place on Friday, April 21st from 4-7pm at Macy & Son, with a rosary at 6:30pm
