Obituary for Karen Hamilton

Karen (Lord) Hamilton, daughter of Lola and Clinton Lord was born on October 16, 1942 in McMinnville, Oregon. Karen grew up in Willamina with one brother, Frank, and one sister, Sharon. She attended Willamina grade school and high school.
Karen is preceded in death by her mother, Lola, her father, Clinton, and her brother, Frank. She was married to Daryl Hamilton on December 23, 1960. She was a lovely young wife and soon to be the mother of two beautiful daughters. She spent her entire life as a resident of Willamina.
The family vacationed often in California to visit relatives and made some wonderful memories. Karen loved the Oregon Coast; she and Daryl spent many fun times at the ocean. She loved to read, was an avid walker, rain or shine, and worked for several years for Loren Marker in the berry fields working on the automated picker and trained others.
She was quite a unique woman and mother; with great advice for her daughters: “Do it anyway, it builds character”. “If you don’t like it, change it, you are in charge.” AND when Karen gave you “the look”, you knew you had crossed some line somewhere.
Karen is survived by her husband, Daryl, her two daughters, Diane and Donna, four grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
We will miss you Karen.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 20th, at the Willamina VFW, at 11:00am. A viewing will take place Monday, June 19th, from 4-7pm, at Macy & Son in McMinnville.
