Obituary for Kenneth Arlen Till

Kenneth Arlen Till passed away on April 11, 2017 in McMinnville, Oregon. He was 80 years old. He was born on March 30, 1937 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Conrad and Dorothy Till.
The family lived in Colorado and Idaho before settling in Sacramento, California. He graduated from Sacramento High School in 1955. During his college years, he worked at Camp Sacramento where he met his future wife, Sandi Whipple. He graduated from Sacramento State with a degree in chemical engineering.
Ken entered the aerospace industry where he spent his entire career. In addition to his passion for all things aeronautical, he had a great love of the outdoors, in particular, fishing and camping in the Sierras with his family. He was a true original Forty-Niner Faithful and an avid Giants fan.
He was a volunteer firefighter and police officer, coached his kids’ sports teams and enjoyed giving back to his community. At the time of his death, Ken was a docent at the Evergreen Aviation Museum.
Ken is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandi; two daughters, Kathy Jolly (Vern), Janet Till Hausmann and son, Gary Till (Colleen); as well as 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. His sense of humor and playfulness was appreciated by all who had the good fortune to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 22nd in the Lodge at the Evergreen Aviation Museum (The Falls Event Center, 510 NE Captain Michael King Smith Way, McMinnville). A reception will follow.
