Obituary for Pearl Ann Amerson

Pearl Ann Amerson passed away in McMinnville at the age of 83 surrounded by her family. She was born in Yamhill at the family farm, the daughter of Chester (Chet) and Francis Barrett. She was the oldest of 8 children.
Pearl attended school in Yamhill. She met Joe Amerson at the Log Cabin in Carlton at a Halloween dance. At the age of 15 she married Joe in August of 1949. Pearl and Joe loved to dance, they spent many years dancing and building friendships on the dance floor. After they met Joe worked for her Grandpa and would visit and walk home after work. Pearl and Joe spent their last day together dancing at the Log cabin.
Pearl and Joe built a life and family together at their Panther Creek farm. She had 6 sons and 2 daughters, Joseph (Joe) and wife Chris Amerson, Cheryl (Sherry) Maynard, Richard (deceased), William (deceased), Malia and husband Derril Fry, James (Jim) and wife Susie Amerson, Gary and wife Thu Thao Amerson and John and wife Julie Amerson. She also has 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Pearl along with Joe in the late ‘60’s started a rental housing business. They worked together at it until Joe’s passing in March 1989, she continued to build a thriving business.
There will be a permanent hole in hearts of countless family and friends. Our loss is heaven’s permanent gain.
Donations can be made to St James School and/or Church.
There will be a celebration of life is at St James Church, 1:00 PM on Friday September 8, 2017 preceded by a rosary. Reception following.
