Obituary for Raymond Albert Chernosky

Our beloved Raymond Albert Chernosky passed away on January 10, 2018, at Willamette Valley Medical Center after 12 years of cancer-related and heart-related illness. He was raised by his parents Elfriede and Olien Chernosky, to be a decent, honorable man and he remained so his entire life.

Raymond was born in Charlotte, Texas, and lived in San Antonio before moving to California and then to Oregon, where he spent over 20 years as Planer Superintendent at Ft. Hill Lumber. He was in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Raymond and his wife of 54 years, Barbara, have three children: Paula Heyworth, Jacqueline Anke (Tom) and Jason Chernosky (Jesica). His grandchildren are: Iain Heyworth, Aislinn and Lindsay Carson, and Tom’s daughter, Piper. His great grandchildren are: Alanna and Sean Heyworth. He loved his family dearly. He had great affection for his many nieces and nephews. Raymond’s two sisters, Helen Widner and Nancy Ralston reside in Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Dorothy Shade and Joyce Cannon.

Raymond was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheridan. His favorite charities would be the church of your choice and the H.R. Hoover MD Cancer Center in McMinnville, Oregon. Services will be held at Willamette National Cemetery Portland, Oregon on January 22, 2018 at 2:30 PM.

The Cookie-man rests now. I come to you O Lord, Just as I Am.
