Obituary for Robert Louis Shelburne

Bob Shelburne, 82 passed away Tuesday September 26, 2017. Bob was born January 27, 1935 to Claude and Mae Shelburne of Unionvale, Oregon. Bob attended Unionvale Grade School and Dayton High School and graduated in 1953. Bob met his wife Sharon in school and they were married in 1953. They were married for 64 years.

Bob worked for Darigold Creamery, owned his own gas station, and drove truck for coca cola before going to work as a water well driller. In 1960 Bob and Sharon bought an 80 acre farm in Unionvale and in 1964 at the age of 29 he started his own drilling company, Blue Water Drilling. Bob retired in 2000.

Bob loved his family. He enjoyed being with his family first and foremost. He also loved to travel, play golf, go fishing, and spend time with friends. He had a love for taking care of the people around him.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Sharon, daughters Candy Shelburne, Terri Paysinger, and son-in-law David Paysinger all of Dayton. He has six grandchildren, Amy Shelburne, Angela Shelburne, Emily Shelburne, Loree Shelburne, Katie Paysinger, and Joey Paysinger. He has four great grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his brother Jim Shelburne.

Funeral services for Bob will be held at Dayton Pioneer Church (300 4th Street, Dayton, OR) on Tuesday, October 3rd, at 2:00pm. Interment at Hopewell Cemetery will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Dayton Volunteer Fire District, or the Dayton Education Foundation.
