Streeter Luke Roy born on the family farm near Carlton Oregon on August 7, 1924 was called to his final home on August 20, 2011. While growing up on a small jersey dairy farm Streeter attended the White Cloud Country School for grades 1-8 and then went to Carlton High School, Class of 1942. After graduation he worked on various cattle and dairy farms throughout Oregon. For the last 53 years Streeter had his own beef cattle and sheep operation; even growing hay up until his death at 87 years old.
Streeter was very involved with various livestock organizations within the community. Starting with the South 40 Club which consisted of a small group of young farmers during the 1940's, as a charter member of the Homesteaders 4-H Livestock Club, an honorary member of the Yamhill Carlton FFA Chapter and as Livestockmen of the Year in 1983 for the Livestock Association.
Streeter Roy was preceded in death by his parents Cullen A. and Mary R. Roy and wife Verla L. Roy. He is survived by his Son Steven (Michelle) Roy, two Grandsons Paxton and Tyler, Brother Alvin (Carol) Roy and many other extended family members.
