Theresa Santa

Funeral Director / Embalmer

Theresa joined our staff in 2006, and serves as a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer.

Theresa grew up in the great state of Montana. And as fate would have it, one of her best friend’s parents ran a funeral home! She learned at a young age that funeral directing was in her blood. To hear Theresa tell the tale, “Without realizing it at the time, I was getting an early education in funeral services. For years I witnessed the selfless 24/7/365 dedication that these directors gave to our community. The quality of their work grew out of their deep compassion and uncompromising care that they gave to each individual and family they served. Likewise, the Macy family has been providing that same dedication and personalized small town appeal-type of service to this community for the past 5 generations. I feel very honored to be a part of their 'extended family' as together we serve this amazing community.”

Over the years, Theresa has been involved in a variety of community services including Co-chair of Carlton Fun Days, St. John Altar Society, Carlton Downtown Development Association, McMinnville Elks Club, McMinnville Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, as well as many school volunteer programs while her two daughters, Katie and Allie, attended Yamhill-Carlton schools.

In more recent years, Theresa and her husband, Dale, love spending time with their combined family of 4 children and 8 beautiful grandchildren, and of course their sweet dog, Stella.

They also enjoy exploring the Northwestern States. Their "roads-less-travelled" approach to life often leads them off the beaten paths and down unfamiliar highways and byways—resulting in unique and exciting adventures that rank highest among their favorite pastimes.

To many people, pre planning makes great sense. Joel’s role at Macy and Son is to sit with individuals and couples and offer information that makes this planning as effortless as possible.

Many years of serving at the West Valley Funeral Home (Formerly Adamson’s) and Macy and Son’s more recently, has prepared Joel for this task.

Joel and his family have lived in the West Valley for nearly 40 years. Joel is not serving strangers, but friends and neighbors acquired over decades. Joel will meet with you either in the office or the privacy of your home to educate and answer your questions about pre planning.

Tyler Waud

Pre-Need Counselor
photo

Tyler grew up in the funeral industry. As a young child and through adolescence he spent many afternoons, doing his homework at his father’s funeral home. He listened to the way his father comforted and used compassion with families through one of the most emotional and stressful times a family can go through.

Tyler became a pre-need counselor because he’s seen firsthand how incredibly difficult planning a funeral can be, while also trying to grieve. He enjoys helping families alleviate that financial and emotional burden by planning ahead.

In his off time, Tyler enjoys spending time with his family, especially his newborn son, traveling, going to Ducks games, white water rafting and volunteering in his community with at risk youth and people struggling with addictions.
