Obituary for Curtis Tarleton Taylor, Sr.

Curtis Tarleton Taylor, Sr. passed away on February 13, 2016 peacefully in McMinnville at Willamette Valley Medical Center, he was 93 years old. He was born on December 22, 1924 in Clarendon, Texas to John and EvaLou Taylor. The family moved to New Mexico in 1927 and filed to own a section of land where they lived until 1946. They moved to a small farm in Socorro, New Mexico where he married Wanda Slaton in June 1951. They settled in Grants, New Mexico where he worked in the Uranium Mill. Then in 1966, they moved to Yamhill, Oregon on a small farm and worked at a veneer plant in Tualatin for 18 years.
He was a charter member of Valley Baptist Church and performed church services at Life Care Center in McMinnville, Oregon for 30 years. He loved serving the Lord, traveling in his camper trailer, camping, fishing, and working on his farm with his cows. He also enjoyed people, especially his family, church family and friends.
He is survived by his three children; Curtis Tarleton Taylor, Jr., David William Taylor and Janet Lynne Taylor, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He is the last survivor of his family.
A memorial service will be held at the Valley Baptist Church in McMinnville at 11:00am on Friday, February 23, 2018 followed with lunch in the Fellowship Hall, then family will attend interment at 2:00pm at Pioneer Cemetery Memorial in Yamhill/Carlton. Donations may be made to the Lottie Moon Missionary Offering at the Valley Baptist Church.
