Obituary for Stanley "Stan" R. Little

Stan Little of Monmouth, OR, passed away on April 19th, 2018, from Leukemia and complications associated with “Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)”.
Stan resided in Monmouth for over 20 years where he and his lovely wife Juanita settled after residing at Grand Forks AFB, ND; March AFB, CA; Moreno Valley, CA and Corvallis, OR.
Stan was born in Madera, CA, and raised in Sunnymead (now Moreno Valley), CA.

He attended Riverside Polytechnic High School in Riverside, CA, graduating in 1964. After attending a local junior college for a short period of time he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, making it a career and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant in 1988.

He served in several locations including, Texas, West Germany, North Dakota, California, Oregon and Vietnam.

Some of his military awards include two Meritorious Service Medals; one Joint Service Commendation Medal; two Air Force Commendation Medals; two Air Force Achievement Medals; the Air Force Expert Marksman Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal (with two Bronze Service Stars), the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Device, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
After military retirement he worked for the Banning Municipal Court, Riverside County, and Riverside International Raceway, for a short period of time before settling in Oregon.
In 1989, he started his second career working at Western Oregon University, Division of Extended Programs and after several internal positions he retired as the Accounting/Budget Manager in July 2011.
Stan enjoyed spending time with his wife, and daughters, camping, fishing, and scavenging the Oregon coast.
Stan is the Charter Esquire of Moreno Valley Elks Lodge #2697, and life member of the Elks, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW), Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA) and the Non-commissioned Officers Association (NCOA).
He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita, a brother and his parents.
Survivors include his step-daughters Rozina Clough of Pleasant Hill, OR and Zoe Humphries of Greenville, OH; brother, John Little (Rene), Moreno Valley, CA, and sisters, H. Sue Little, Stevensville, MT; JoAnn Whitaker (Jim) Waynesboro, TN; Jean Goff (Joe) Waynesboro, TN; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private interment will be held at Amity Cemetery, Amity, OR.
